Neobolt consists of separate pins and collars as do most other lockbolt systems. However here the similarities end. NeoBolt is assembly by inserting the pin through the panel, and the collar is then screwed on with a simple quarter turn action to ensure that the assembly remains setup whilst other Neobolt parts are added to the assembly. When the operator is ready a tool is introduced from the collar side which then closes any gaps, clamps the joint tightly together and then swages the collar permanently to the pin.
Unlike conventional lockbolt assemblies Neobolt pins are not snapped short during installation and are instead left intact which results in a quieter installation along with a neat tail which is still fully protected by a plated coating thus reducing the likelihood of the assembly corroding.
Assembly is quick using conventional POP Avdel tooling and minimal operator training is required in the use of the fasteners and tooling. Special marks on the collar act as a visual conformation that the pin and collar are correctly installed.
NeoBolt fasteners are available in diameters from 4.8 to 25.4mm diameter and grip ranges up to 158mm. For more information on NeoBolt click here
