New PEM® S-RT free-running lock-nuts allow the mating screw to be spun on freely until a until clamp load is induced. Unlike other thread locking systems the screw runs freely until the final clamp load is reached and provides superior resistance to vibration.

New PEM® S-RT™ free-running lock-nuts allow the mating screw to be spun on freely until clamp load is induced. Unlike other thread locking systems the screw runs freely until the final clamp load is reached and provides superior resistance to vibration.
Features of the RT Free-Running Locknuts include:
- Screw turns freely until a clamp load is applied. No friction as with nylon inserts or other thread locking nut systems
- Resistant to vibrational loosening
- Superior anti-vibration properties to standard hex nut and spring washer
- When installed with a suitable press, the mating side of the metal sheet will be flush or sub-flush
- Locking feature reusability is not affected by number of on/off cycles
- Reduce assembly time and inventory by taking separate locking washers out of the assembly
- Uses same mounting hole and installation tooling as standard S type PEM self-clinching nuts – no special changes to the panel or installation process required
- Available in M3 to M6 thread plus unified sizes.
