SMTSS ReelFast Snap on Standoff

New PEM® SMTSS™ ReelFast® SNAP-TOP® standoff fasteners from Penn Engineering® hold printed circuit boards securely in assemblies without the need for additional  mating screws or other loose threaded hardware to complete attachment.  SMTSS unthreaded standoffs help to streamline production by simply installing in boards in the same manner and at the same time as other surface mount components prior to the automated reflow solder process. The mating board is then easily and securely snapped into place without any special tools. SMTSS standoffs reduce assembly costs and enable precise and reliable mounting and spacing of boards using less hardware and fewer operations. 

PEM SMTSS standoffs are supplied on tape and reel compatible with existing SMT automated installation equipment.  Without a need for secondary installation operations that may inadvertently be performed improperly, board damage and costly scrap can be avoided. 

PEM SMTSSS standoffs are manufactured from carbon steel and are available in imperial lengths 1/4" or .3/8" and metric lengths 6mm, 8mm, or 10mm.  They will install readily install in any standard printed circuit boards from as little as 1.53mm thick without any special preparation other than provision of a solder pad on the board.
