Self-Clinching Nuts for Thin Sheets SMPS, SMPP
Product Details
Two new product designs from PEM offers the ability to installs full strength threads into very thin materials. This means that self-clinching technology can be used in a wider variety of applications than ever before.
SMPS fasteners are designed for use in applications where standard self-clinching nuts are unsuitable. SMPS nuts can be installed into very thin materials which would defeat standard S nuts. In addition the special design allows the inserts to be installed closer to the edge of the panel without the risk of distortion which gives added design flexibility.
SMPS Features:
Installs into steel sheets as thin as 0.64 mm.
manufactured from hardened steel for installation into most materials including aluminum and steel up to HRB60/HB107.
Reduced outer dimensions and thinner sheet capabilities compared to type S thread sizes.
Recommended for use in stainless steel sheets HRB 60 / HB 107 or less.
The new SMPP Self-Clinching Nut has the same functionality as the SMPS, but with added corrosion resistance similar to 300 series stainless steel, it is ideal for use in stainless steel sheets. The knurl design in the SMPP Self-Clinching nut has been improved for better push-out and torque-out performance.
SMPS Features:
Installs into stainless steel sheets as thin as 0.64 mm.
manufactured from age hardened A286 stainless steel which gives similar corrosion resistance properties to 300 grade stainless steel.
Reduced outer dimensions and thinner sheet capabilities compared to type SP thread sizes.
Recommended for use in stainless steel sheets HRB 90 / HB 192 or less.
