Using rivet nuts in the absence of a compressed air has always meant resorting to hand tooling. This is fine for small volume and repair work - but much less so for production line assembly. The Gesipa Firebird solves this issue by providing a cordless tool capable of working continuously away from compressed air or electricity. Fire Bird can place steel inserts from M3 to M8, stainless steel inserts up to M6 and aluminium inserts up to M10.
The Gesipa Firebird uses spin-pull technology for consistent setting of all types of rivet nut and is simple to use. A pull of the trigger winds the insert onto the mandrel, whilst a second pull installs the insert and winds the insert off again. The whole sequence taking just seconds. Spare nose assemblies are stored on the tool and can be interchanged without the use of tools.
Logic circuits within the tool and battery protect the operator from possible harm should the tool be used incorrectly whilst ensuring the tool cannot be overloaded. A battery management system gives extended use from each charge. Depending on the size and type of rivet nut being set the Firebird can install between 300 and 600 inserts on a full charge.
Firebird comes supplied in a strong metal carry case complete with charger, battery and M4, M5 and M6 nose assemblies. M3, M8 and M10 nose assemblies are available to order separately.
