New PEM® SMTSS Surface Mount Standoff Fasteners significantly reduce the time required to mount secondary PCB's and other component

New PEM® SMTSS ReelFast® SNAP-TOP® standoff fasteners from PennEngineering® hold printed circuit boards securely in assemblies without the need for mating screws or other loose hardware to complete attachment.  These unthreaded standoffs improve production efficiency by installing into PC boards in the same manner using the same placing equipment as other surface mount components prior to the automated reflow solder process.  SMTSS standoffs enable the fast, precise and secure mounting of PC boards using less hardware and fewer operations. 

  

Unlike loose parts with handling issues, PEM SMTSS standoffs are supplied on tape and reel compatible with existing SMT automated installation equipment.  Without a need for secondary installation operations that may inadvertently be performed improperly, board damage and costly scrap can be avoided. 

  

PEM SMTSSS standoffs are manufactured from carbon steel and are available in imperial lengths 1/4" and 3/8"  and metric lengths 6mm, 8mm, or 10mm.  They will install reliably in boards and panels as thin as .060" and 1.53mm.
