Using the same installation technology as regular self-clinching nuts, self-locking nuts also add the benefit of creating vibration resistant joints when a mating screw is tightened up. Using self-locking nuts products more secure joints and eliminates the need for spring locking washers, thread locking pastes and other mechanical thread locking devices. Thread locking nuts can be used a number of times without loss of performance and the new S-RT type inserts can be used in applications where many installation cycles are required with no ill effects
New PEM® S-RT free-running lock-nuts allow the mating screw to be spun on freely until a until clamp load is induced. Unlike other thread locking systems the screw runs freely until the final clamp load is reached and provides superior resistance to vibration.
This TRI-DENT® self-clinching standard S nut features an economical locking mechanism. It provides self locking threads in sheets as thin as 1mm. The unique Tri- Dent locking feature offers a simple thread lock in demanding applications. SL nuts are not suited to applications where repeated use of the thread is likely.
The PEMFLEX® design provides MIL-N-25027 locking performance without damaging mating threads. Thread sizes #2 to #10 and M2.5 to M5. All-metal, self-locking fasteners are available in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
A nylon hexagonal insert in PL (steel) and PLC (stainless steel) self-clinching nuts provides a reusable, non-metallic prevailing torque thread locking function. Thread sizes 4-40 to 10-32 and M3 to M5.
CFN broaching fasteners are available for thinner sheet, close-to-edge applications. The locking element provides prevailing torque to eliminate loosening of mating threaded hardware.
