A totally unique concept, Rivscrew is the rivet that can be unscrewed and even re-installed if necessary.
Utilising the Avdel Speed Riveting System, Rivscrew is installed like any other Speed Fastener. By using a special hexagonal mandrel an Allen key-way is created through the centre of the fastener during the setting operation. Should there be a need to remove the fastener, it can be unscrewed with a standard Allen key - a feature especially valued in the electronics industry where drilling out rivets is avoided at all costs.
In addition to its other features, Rivscrew has good multigrip and hole fill capabilities, as well as controlled clamp up. Whilst Rivscrew can be installed in most materials it can only be unscrewed from materials of Vickers hardness 105 hv5 or less. Supplied in countersunk form, Rivscrew can be left countersunk or, as is normally the case, domed into a snap head appearance during the placing process to increase clamp up.
Rivscrew is manufactured from steel and is normally supplied zinc plated and Cr3 passivated. Special platings including hot tin dip, black passivated and Molybdenum Disulphide are available to customer order.
Rivscrew is suitable for use with the following materials:
