Reelfast® Panel Fasteners SMTPR, PSHP

ReelFast® surface mount fasteners are provided on tape and reel and mounted to printed circuit boards in the same manner as other surface mount components, prior to the automated solder reflow process. Combination screw and retainer replaces loose hardware.


SMTPR fasteners are supplied in two parts. The SMTPR surface mount base is supplied on tape and reel and attached to the PCB using standard surface mount processes. The PSHP cap is supplied with the threaded stud attached is supplied as a separate component. This means that the base component can be assembled by a subcontractor and then sent to another location for final assembly which requires just a few seconds to snap on the cap, no tools or special skills are necessary for this. This makes transport and storage of the PCB more convenient than if the board is completely assembled.
