The most cost effective method of installing a full depth thread in thin gauge materials, Thin Sheet Nutserts come in a variety of forms. Ideal for use in drilled or punched holes, Thin Sheet Nutserts are installed from one side making them especially suitable for tube, box sections or tight corners. A comprehensive range of inserts is available in a large range of metric and imperial thread sizes to suit most applications.
The standard low profile insert gives a near flush finish in sheet materials without the need to countersink the hole. For positions which have to be absolutely flush, countersunk versions are also available.
If a high push out value is required, large flanged versions are offered. Large flanged inserts can also be useful in very thin sheet applications, as they tend to provide rigidity to the material surrounding the hole, thus making the assembly stronger.
To increase torque to turn values, especially in softer materials, splined inserts may be used. In harder materials, the increased bearing area of plain-bodied inserts can give better results.
Made to suit metric or imperial hole sizes, materials up to 6 millimetres thick can be accommodated, dependent on thread size. For applications which must be totally sealed, closed end versions are available. Produced in zinc plated and passivated Steel, additional sizes and finishes may be available - please check with us for details.
