Avtainer is a high strength steel fastener and shell, designed for joining composite panels to metal. Installed like an ordinary lock bolt, Avtainer has a large diameter low profile head. This is combined with a large diameter rear side shell - designed to spread the clamp load when attaching plywood, GRP, plastic laminates etc to other materials. As with all lock bolts, Avtainer is resistant to tampering - making it ideal where security is a consideration.
Avtainer is widely used in the CVB industry where the common application is to attach composite board to the aluminium extrusion used in the construction of high sided wagons; and to fix door gear to composite/plywood doors. An integral under head neoprene seal ensures a watertight joint, making Avtainer suitable for the most arduous conditions.
Available in either Normal zinc plate or with coloured plastic encapsulated head forms, there are also smaller diameter shells to allow assembly in limited access applications.
