Our Field Sales Team Richard Avery
Richard is our Account Manager for the South of England and also our Sales Director. He has over 25 year’s experience in working with manufacturers, helping them to find the right assembly solutions in a wide range of applications.
Richard has worked with BSL and ICI in technical sales roles, before joining Avdel in 1989 as a Sales Engineer. He then moved to Zygology in 2000. Whilst Richard has worked with organisations across a large variety of industry sectors, his particular expertise lies in the electronics sector. Sadly, "expertise" is a word rarely used to describe his golf game but he still applies the same dogged determination on the fairway as he does in the factory.
Alec is our Account Manager for the West Midlands, South and Mid Wales.
He has over 35 years' engineering and sales experience, gained firstly through an apprenticeship at Dowty Aerospace, then as a Design Engineer at Rank Xerox. During this time he also acquired an extensive knowledge of Precision Machining, Thermoset and Thermoplastic Mouldings.
Alec then joined Avdel before taking up the position of Business Development Manager for Zygology in 2008. He has also fine-tuned his considerable Rugby and Squash skills, making him an expert at keeping lots of balls up in the air at the same time.
Ian is our Account Manager for the whole of London, East Midlands and East Anglia.
He has over 19 years of experience of providing fastening and assembly solutions to the manufacturing industry. A qualified Mechanical Engineer, he first joined Avdel in 1990 in a technical sales role before gaining further experience in the electronic security field. He joined Zygology in 2002 and now works with customers throughout the Home Counties, helping them to add value and improve their assembly performance. Ian's own performance on the guitar, however, remains questionable, as does the reason behind his unflinching support of Stevenage FC - a burden bravely borne since childhood.
Ashley is our Operations Director. He has over 12 years’ experience of working in the fastener industry, having joined Zygology in 1997. Ashley specialises in the Avdel product range and is able to offer expert technical advice on all Avdel applications. In addition to keeping the sales office in order he is also our quality manager and IT specialist. Away from the daily grind Ashley is a keen five a side football player - despite his body telling him that he needs to slow things down and take up something more suited to his advancing years.
Tony is a Customer Service Advisor and our Southco Technical Specialist. He has many years' experience in technical sales within the electronic security market, focusing on single and multi door access control systems. Tony initially joined Zygology in 2001 as an Avdel technical specialist, going on to work closely with the Southco range of products. As an avid allotmenter who really knows his onions, he understands the importance of gently nurturing and tending to bring results.
Helen McCorkindale – Team Leader and PEM/BBA Technical Specialist
Helen joined Zygology in 2003, having previously worked in the financial sector. She has subsequently gained a sound understanding of all our products, focusing in particular on the PEM product range and its applications. Helen's boundless energy in the office is only matched by that of her dogs, who do their best to wear her out in the Buckinghamshire countryside.
Frances joined Zygology in 2003 and is now a Customer Service Advisor, advising customers on applications across the Zygology range of products. Her friendly approach is appreciated by customers in all market sectors. Whilst Frances doesn't have a waggy tail, she is also a keen dog walker, building up her stamina to take on the rigours of fastenings and family life.
Jo joined Zygology in 2006, having worked in a variety of customer service roles. She has a good understanding of all our products, and is able to assist with most enquiries which come her way. Jo is very competitive, regularly jumping over obstacles but never falling off - her horse riding prowess stands her in good stead in the office too.
After several years' varied experience in a number of roles within the pharmaceutical and hospitality industries, Alex joined Zygology in February 2008. She has been able to apply her excellent customer service skills by helping customers across all industry sectors to find the optimum solution for their fastening requirements. As a former pub landlady, Alex's cheerful approach to life definitely puts her in the "my glass is half full" team.
Linda brings years of experience to Zygology having spent most of her working life in accounts offices – including Dun & Bradstreet. Since joining us in 2008 she has made herself at home and is always up for cup of tea and a chat when she is not sweet talking customers into parting with some cash.
Away from work it’s a busy social whirl as she engages in her favourite pastimes of music, theatre and eating out. Fortunately Kizzy her loyal yorkie is always on hand to keep her company when she is getting her strength back from her exploits.
Mark joined Zygology Ltd in May 1998 as Warehouse Manager after 15 years in the car industry. January 2000 saw Mark take on the role of Service Engineer in the company’s Air Tool Repair Centre, ensuring a consistently high standard of workmanship on all repairs carried out. Mark's other roles also include Health and Safety Manager and Risk Assessor. This is in addition to his less well-known roles as globe-trotter (23 countries visited to date) and music connoisseur. In fact, he's just like one of Tony's onions - he's got layers.
Keith joined us in 2005 bringing with him over 35 years of experience in logistics. During his career he has worked for French, German companies as well as a stint at Heidelburg based in the USA. When he's not keeping busy ensuring that customers get their goods on time Keith is our resident petrol head. He likes nothing better than to be stood at the trackside sniffing hot exhaust fumes - whether it be at a Formula 1 event, a drag race or the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Fortunatley for all concerned he has a very understanding wife to keep him company and mostly under control.
